A shop's free-shipping threshold and a country's duty exemption are two different lines at two different amounts, and neither one is the price you were quoted. These are the exemptions nuvy works from, each read from the customs authority's own document:

+ duty means the rate above is not the whole bill: a customs duty is charged too, at a rate set by how the parcel is classified, and nuvy will not guess it. Thresholds are written in each country's own currency; the dollar figure is nuvy's arithmetic at a dated rate, not a published line. Every rule on the duty pages carries the day a person last read it, because these change.

Yes — that is the whole point of it. The shop prices are the starting figure; nuvy adds each shop's postage and what the border charges, and every product page shows that total for each country separately, because the cheapest shop is not the same one in all of them.
It depends on where it is going — the United States 12.5% on every parcel; Singapore 9% above $311.76; the Philippines 12% above $158.93 plus a customs duty nuvy will not guess; Canada 5% above $14.06 plus a customs duty nuvy will not guess. Each rule is read from the customs authority's own document and carries the date a person last read it.
It changes product by product and country by country, so nuvy counts it rather than picking a favourite: the comparison pages show, over every product two shops both carry, how often each one is cheaper. Shipping and duty then move the answer again at the border.
They come from each shop's own product feed, none of them read longer ago than 2026-10-05. Refresh dates vary by shop; see About nuvy for each feed's last update. Prices can change before the next update.
